Tropic Storm is a fantastic MMORTS game consisting of high intensity and fast paced warfare. It’s an excellent game that sets itself apart from most run of the mill RTS games because it rewards players for making highly strategic plays and alongside that it looks fantastic as well so there’s simply nothing that players won’t like about it.
Although Tropic Storm has done an excellent job of separating itself from the rest of the pack, one trait that it does share with most other games in the genre is that it has a rather steep learning curve. Fortunately, the game has done an excellent job of making the learning process easier for new players with its extremely in-depth tutorial that’ll guide newcomers through the basics in a step by step manner to make sure that they don’t miss out on any of the crucial basics.
The gameplay of Tropic Storm can be separated into two major aspects. The first is of course building up and fortifying your own base whereas the second is raiding enemy bases and annihilating everything they have built up. Creating a base in this game is great fun because there is an immense amount of structures to choose from. Players are given tons of room to theorycraft as they try to create the most optimal base that has impenetrable defenses.
Buildings can be upgraded as well which is great as it allows players with different play-styles to make things exactly according to their preferences. If you’re someone who enjoys having a good economy then you’ll probably want to upgrade the resource gathering structures but on the other hand if you’re someone who’s all about the fighting then you’ll be putting your focus towards upgrading the defensive structures first. The fact that this game facilitates different play-styles is one of the key reasons people enjoy it so much.
